Flexible Approach to Billing
Some organizations still want the traditional law firm experience: attorney time billed by the hour, with exhaustive legal memos or projects and great variability in terms of costs. For those organizations, we can provide that.
But, increasingly, organizations want their lawyers to be as customer-oriented as the rest of the business world has become. This is what excites us.
For some organizations, customer-oriented might mean flat fee arrangements on a project-by-project basis, with pricing that takes into account the organization’s circumstances. Unlike many law firms, that is how we prefer to operate and we will make it work whenever possible.
Other organizations, especially those without general counsel or a non-profit lawyer on staff, might want to pay a fixed monthly fee to simulate having someone in that role. A lawyer they can call or e-mail whenever something comes up that will respond as though they were down the hall without having to worry about incremental charges. We are happy to play that role.
Finally, some organizations might not want legal advice at all, just the support of someone with years of experience in the non-profit sector that can provide a training or walk them through best practices. We can offer that too.
And we are always glad to have a first call, without charge, to discuss your situation and figure out whether an engagement makes sense and what it looks like.
